“I was a female macaque who died on the 2nd July 2021. I was aged 19 ½. I spent my life in the laboratory. Did you know that on weekends we don’t get fresh food? We got fresh food on week day afternoons and in the morning on a public holiday. Otherwise, the rest of the time it was just rationed pellets. All we could do was wait for the pellet trolley to come by. I have heard that in the forest macaques forage for food! Please remember me and honour me with a name.”
