Spread awareness and raise funds

Speaking about animals in laboratories will spread awareness about their plight, which helps us fight for their protection. We rely solely on donations to fund our work, so donate what you can and encourage others to contribute too.

Animals in Laboratories Matter

April 21-27 is World Week for Animals in Laboratories 2025. This is a time to pause and think about the plight of animals who have suffered and died in laboratory experiments.

Each year in Australia, millions of animals are subjected to harmful experiments in the name of science. Traumatic brain injury, forced smoking, food deprivation, organ transplantation and even strangulation are inflicted upon defenceless animals. Social animals may be housed in isolation, and mother-baby bonds are cruelly broken. Shockingly, much of this animal testing is funded by Australian taxpayer dollars.

With failure rates as high as 95%, it’s hard to justify this treatment of thinking and feeling beings.

AFSA is dedicated to a future where no animals are harmed in the name of science, and scientific progress is advanced through animal-free research methods. We have a small team with unwavering dedication to this cause, but we need your help to continue the fight.

For World Week for Animals in Laboratories, our virtual coffee morning is an easy way to get involved and spread the word. It’s also super fun!

The AFSA team will be heading to select cafes throughout the week and we would love to see you there. Check out our socials for the details. If you would like a venue in your area to participate, let us know so we can help to facilitate it.
