AFSA works to ensure that the use of animals in research and teaching remains subject to ongoing scrutiny in Australia. We have compiled and published national statistics from 2004 to 2018, which remain available as a historical record.

However, due to the lack of a national reporting system, and inconsistent and incomplete reporting by state and territory governments, AFSA no longer collates or publishes national statistics.
